The final boss for ATEX zone 1
High bay solution for halls with explosion hazards
A strong solution for a safe start
Luminaires used in potentially explosive atmospheres must meet the strict requirements of the ATEX directive. In this context, areas are divided into ATEX zones 0 (constant threat), 1 (occasional threat) and 2 (rare threat) depending on the explosion hazard. While there is high awareness of the need for appropriately protected luminaires in ATEX zone 0, the dangers in zones 1 and 2 are occasionally underestimated or overlooked.
Zalux, part of the TRILUX Group since 2000, is a proven specialist for luminaires with higher protection ratings. At its company headquarters in Zaragoza, Spain, and its production facility in Alhama de Aragon, lighting solutions are developed and produced to the highest technical and design safety standards. All luminaires are certified according to ATEX directives, combining the highest technical and design safety requirements with excellent lighting quality and high efficiency.
Flammable gases and solvent vapours can be generated in and around paint stations and powder coating equipment, requiring an explosion-proof ATEX solution.
Not only classics such as flour or dust explosions pose a danger, ATEX luminaires are also mandatory in distillation and fermentation processes, sugar processing and in many other production areas.
On the one hand, logistics goods themselves can pose an explosion hazard. On the other hand, charging areas for e-vehicles such as forklifts must also be protected, think battery fires.
Petroleum, heavy oil, diesel, petrol, gases, vapours – there is hardly any application where ATEX luminaires are as indispensable as in the refining processes in the petroleum industry.
Wherever chemically reactive solids, liquids, gases and vapours are handled, luminaires with higher protection classes are a must – often also in ancillary areas.
The explosion-proof and flame-resistant LED tube luminaire with robust metal caps is optionally available as a polycarbonate or glass version and is certified for use in ATEX zones 1 and 21. On request, the Kratex LED is available as a DALI-dimmable and BLE variant, as well as with an emergency light function.

With up to 39,500 lumens, the Orex LED high bay luminaire brings the best light into halls with explosive atmospheres. Its aluminium alloy housing features high surface protection against corrosive environments, the diffuser is made of tempered glass. Depending on the version, Orex LED is suitable for use in ATEX zones 1 and 21 or 2 and 22.
ATEX zones 1 and 21 or 2 and 22
Thanks to an extremely robust construction and a gas-tight seal, Strongex2 LED withstands shocks as well as aggressive gases, acids and salty atmospheres. The luminaire is made of high-impact PMMA, the end caps of PA66 and glass fibre. The DALI-dimmable solution is certified for ATEX zones 2, 21 and 22.
ATEX zones 2, 21 and 22
Acquex LED can be installed either as a wall or ceiling luminaire and scores points with its simple and safe installation (cable gland). Thanks to high impact resistance (IK10), great light quality and efficiency, Acquex LED is the perfect entry-level model for ATEX zones 2 and 22.
