Particular ambient temperatures, e.g. in cold stores or boiler houses, as well as operating voltages and frequencies deviating from standard conditions can present difficult operating conditions for luminaires. Moreover, chemical and physical influences such as humidity, salt fogs, lyes, acids, plasticisers released by plastics, gases, maritime and tropical climates, UV radiation, vibrations and short-term shocks as well as particular cleaning methods can also give rise to difficult operating conditions. Regarding the impacts of particular operating conditions on luminaires, luminaire manufacturers should be consulted.
Particular surrounding conditions
For uses in humid, slightly corrosive atmospheres, plastic luminaires are available. Where aggressive substances must be expected to be part of the room's atmosphere, an enquiry to the luminaire manufacturer is required to predict the suitability of the luminaire series in question as reliably as possible. To this end, data regarding environmental conditions such as active agents, ambient temperature and humidity are required.
