Sports hall lighting

We raise the standards of sports facilities in Cracow

We all know that a good lighting system in a sports facility should both meet the visual requirements of spectators, as well as provide comfort for the players. The cost of the electricity used is also not without significance. In addition, the choice of lighting also affects the meeting of television broadcast standards. We have successfully faced these challenges with our recent projects in sports halls located in Cracow.

"Each of us remembers gyms where both watching and playing sports were often not a pleasure. In these memories, an important, but often underestimated role was played by the light – its improper intensity, colour and setting of the luminaires, which were the main causes of discomfort. Volleyball, basketball, handball – each of these sports requires specifically adapted lighting, which should facilitate the game, increasing visibility and comfort for all users.

“At TRILUX, we are passionate about the challenges of lighting, offering solutions perfectly tailored to the needs of sports facilities. This was the case with our recent lighting projects at four locations in Crakow: the modernized Suche Stawy Sports and Entertainment Hall and the newly built sports halls at elementary schools No. 26 and No. 28, as well as at the 9th High School,” says Arkadiusz Wiosna, Sales Manager at TRILUX, adding, ”In the projects we used our excellent Tugra luminaires and Mirona Fit SPO indoor projectors. Both of these lighting solutions are ideal for the demanding conditions in sports halls. Thanks to the availability of multiple variants, the lighting is tailored to the customer's specific needs, while emitting uniform and glare-free light.”

Electricity savings

Refurbishment of lighting is a very large saving resulting from the reduction of operating costs. Replacing conventional light sources with LEDs can save up to 85% of electricity! In addition, modern TRILUX luminaires are characterized by high durability and high resistance to mechanical damage, including ball impact.

“In the design of the upgraded Suche Stawy Sports and Entertainment Hall, the Mirona Fit SPO luminaires were divided into circuits, which gave the possibility to call up 3 independent lighting scenes: 500 lux for facility maintenance, 1000 lux for training, and 2400 lux for high-definition television recording. As a result, energy consumption was reduced from 79,200 watts to just 19,684 watts, a reduction of up to 75%. As you can see, the lighting upgrade has resulted in huge savings, allowing a return on investment after just 13 months.” - Arkadiusz Wiosna comments.
