Arnsberg, February 2025 - TRILUX introduces Osido - a new luminaire family for outdoor building surrounds. The goal: to provide a consistent and harmonious design for all lighting tasks surrounding a building. The Osido wall lights, available in four shapes - square, rectangular, round and oval, kick things off. Designed for flexibility, the lighting technology and smart features can be tailored to individual project requirements. The wall lights also score points with many clever features, including innovative one-person mounting technology to make installation easier, a module for face illumination to ensure greater safety and comfort, and a slightly inclined indirect component which reduces spill light. The Osido wall lights have been available since February 2025. The series will be expanded in the coming months to include bollards, spotlights and ceiling lights.
Façades, outdoor staircases, pathways, and entrance areas all have different lighting requirements in terms of design, lighting quality, and lighting effect. These demands often result in inconsistent designs around buildings. The Osido luminaire range solves this challenge by offering a sophisticated solution that combines all these lighting tasks in a cohesive design and can even be used indoors. The family concept enables a uniform design language and ensures high lighting quality and technological compatibility between the different luminaire types. The modular approach also simplifies lighting design considerably.
First to be released are the Osido wall lights, which impress with their minimalist, modern design and gently rounded edges. Its high-quality die-cast aluminium housing has no visible screws and blends seamlessly into both contemporary and classic architecture. The range is available in elegant anthracite and can be customised in a range of special colours on request.
One of Osido’s standout features is the newly developed installation concept, enabling single-person installation with Plug & Play connectivity. A larger cavity behind the mounting plate makes it easier to position the luminaire by providing additional clearance for routing the wall cable. Once the mounting plate has been attached, the electrical connection is established and secured via a fixed plug connector on the mounting plate and a flying plug connector on the luminaire. The luminaire housing can then be attached to the mounting plate- tool-free. Screws that could compromise the design are not required for fixing. Instead, a safety catch engages automatically when the housing is attached, which prevents theft or tampering.
Thanks to a diverse selection of MLT Optics, Osido wall luminaires can solve almost any functional or decorative lighting task. There is a choice of direct and direct/indirect distribution luminaires, with narrow or wide light distribution. There are also solutions with asymmetrical light distribution for path lighting and a module for facial illumination. With this, the direct light components are directed so that passers-by's faces, and facial expressions are easier to recognise, which increases safety and well-being. Luminous flux packages between 500 and 4,000 lumens and three light colours (2,700 K, 3,000 K, 4,000 K) offer complete freedom in terms of lighting design.
In terms of sustainability, Osido scores points not only with its high efficiency of ≥ 143 lm/W and a service life of 50,000 hours but also with a sophisticated feature developed especially for this series: the indirect component, which is slightly inclined inwards. The 6° angled LED board directs the light precisely onto the façade and ensures effective, efficient staging of the architecture. At the same time, the amount of spilt light is reduced. When combined with a lighting control system, the Osido wall lights become even more sustainable (and smarter). The luminaires are available in switchable (ET), dimmable (ETDD) and, Casambi (ETBLE+CAS) versions, as well as an and emergency lighting version with a monitoring module. The Osido can be quickly and safely networked and controlled with the TRILUX LiveLink light management system (optional).
