Agata, one of Poland’s most recognisable furniture and home décor brands, offers a wide range of products to help customers create stylish, functional living spaces. Sustainability is a top priority for the company, and as a long-term lighting partner, we have supported Agata’s transition to smart LED lighting across its store network. For the latest project, we have just refurbished the lighting at the store on Paprotna Street in Wroclaw. The result is both environmentally friendly and sales-promoting.

Lighting as a Success Factor

Sustainability has always been a top priority at Agata. For example, the company already invests in energy-efficient ventilation and cooling systems, waste heat recovery, and a dedicated photovoltaic plant near Zielona Góra. Rising energy prices during the pandemic accelerated the decision to modernise store lighting, with two key objectives: to reduce energy consumption and to enhance the store atmosphere.

"The right lighting is essential for a pleasant shopping experience," explains Krzysztof Wadas, Marketing Director of Agata S.A. Flexibility is a must, as the product range changes regularly, and the lighting systems must be able to adapt accordingly. In addition, the luminaires should provide optimum light and an attractive room atmosphere.

"A holistic concept using different solutions allows us to create visually distinct zones between different areas," adds Rafal Rogozik, an architect and lighting designer who has worked with Agata for nearly 20 years.

A Holistic Concept with a Versatile Portfolio

The diverse lighting requirements of the store were met using a broad selection of our luminaires. Various versions of our E-Line continuous line are used in the checkout area, above the RTV tables, and in the dining furniture department. We use B.Veo luminaires in the upholstered furniture department, Canilo pendant luminaires in the carpet department, and Ondo luminaires in the entrance area. "And with Juno, the right lighting for the wardrobes and home textiles area was quickly found. Thanks to the convex lens, Juno distributes the light evenly over a large area, which avoids the "clouds" phenomenon of conventional spotlights, reduces power consumption and creates a pleasant room atmosphere thanks to gentle light transitions," explains Filip Gabryelczyk, Retail Manager at TRILUX, who has been realising projects with Agata for 15 years. Quira and Siella luminaires provide the perfect solution for areas with suspended ceilings, while Combial luminaires complete the project portfolio for the covered car park.

Smart Controls a Mandatory Requirement

Despite the many years of extensive project experience with Agata, each shop is unique. Compared to the previous locations, the furniture store in Wroclaw, for example, has a different ceiling construction, meaning that it had to be redesigned for pendant and track luminaires. Most of the luminaires were wirelessly networked for greater sustainability via our LiveLink WiFi lighting management system. And for good reason: intelligent lighting control with sensors that optimise the use of daylight can achieve considerable energy savings without compromising the quality of light. Lighting management also helps to improve the shopping experience, for example, through the targeted use of LEDs with different colour temperatures to optimise the atmosphere and the natural presentation and staging of the products.

A Successful Project with Positive Feedback

The LED refurbishment has delivered substantial energy savings while improving store aesthetics and functionality. "Our solutions make retail spaces more attractive and functional. In addition, the lighting can be customised to suit the product range and can react flexibly to changes in the product range, which ensures futureproofing," summarises Rafal Rogozik. For Rafal Mazur, Deputy Technical Director for Facility Management at Agata S.A., the project is a major success: "Both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the lighting met our expectations. TRILUX’s solutions meet the highest standards, and their customer-centric approach makes them a valuable partner. We highly recommend working with TRILUX."

We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration and many more exciting projects.
