Conflict zones such as pedestrian crossings require greater attention from traffic participants and therefore better lighting than with traffic routes without the danger of collisions.

Pedestrian paths must be illuminated so that pedestrians on crossings and those waiting at the side of the road are clearly recognisable from both directions, even in darkness and with roads wet from rain.
