Products that do not create waste and do not become waste themselves – the aim and principle of circular economy. TRILUX does everything to ensure that materials used are recycled and reused to the greatest possible extent.
For us, resource efficiency means, among other things, consistently optimising the amount of raw materials and materials used in luminaires. Without risking any compromises in terms of quality and function, TRILUX focuses on reducing the volume of raw materials and materials used. We also strive to avoid the use of hazardous, critical and particularly valuable substances as much as possible.
TRILUX has been involved in national and international research projects for many years to improve the resource efficiency of lighting solutions. As a consequence, we continuously analyse all stages along the value chain with the aim of identifying and utilising options for the recovery and recyclability of materials. We simultaneously search for completely new technologies, processes and business models.
As a manufacturer of intelligent lighting solutions, TRILUX can undoubtedly achieve the greatest impact towards climate and resource protection via its efficient and sustainable products. However, all processes in production, administration and transport must also become increasingly sustainable. TRILUX works systematically to minimise their impact on the environment and climate.

An effective sustainability strategy does not end at the boundaries of an organisation, but must also include its entire value and supply chain. TRILUX has integrated a wide range of instruments and measures from this management concept into its everyday business.
Renting, leasing, subscribing – forms of contract that have long been established in many areas of society are also interesting for lighting solutions due to the digitalisation of light. "Light as a service" is a new business model and brings cost and convenience benefits for all parties involved. As the manufacturer, we remain the owner and are therefore responsible when a product is returned to us at the end of its contractually agreed utilisation to reuse, recycle or use it in an alternative way.
For years, the TRILUX Group has been continuously reducing its waste quantities. Used materials and auxiliary materials are, to a large extent, recycled and reused. Separated collection at the Arnsberg site in Germany exceeds 90 percent. Our legally compliant and exemplary approach to waste management is controlled and confirmed annually by an accredited expert.
