Compliance with the legal requirements for emergency lighting is crucial to ensure that the systems are fully functional in an emergency. Regular testing and documentation though, especially with single battery systems, can be time-consuming for operators.
With Emergency Light Monitoring (ELMo) from TRILUX, the entire process can now be automated. The platform-based digital service rationalises the legally required function tests and documentation and drastically reduces the workload. The result? Less work, lower costs, more safety and greater convenience – all while complying with regulations.
Automated testing of the individual batteries in the emergency lighting system, including the necessary documentation, is much simpler and more cost-effective than manual monitoring.
All legal requirements for battery monitoring have been implemented – and the necessary data and documents are stored in the cloud in a legally compliant manner. They are available at all times.
Intuitive software with a dashboard creates maximum transparency and enables simple process control.
ELMo can be seamlessly integrated into the LiveLink light management system, enabling quick, easy and reliable installation. During commissioning, the emergency light components are automatically identified, addressed and assigned together with other DALI luminaires via the LiveLink One app. The only requirement? The emergency light components must be equipped with their own DALI DT1 emergency lighting ECG – combined ECGs that control both emergency and standard luminaires are not supported. All components are connected to LiveLink via a single DALI bus, together with other DALI-based devices such as luminaires, sensors and push-buttons – a separate bus for emergency lighting is not needed. After connecting to the cloud via the LiveLink One app, activation takes place on the TRILUX ONE platform. From there the user has access to the TRILUX IoT platform, which not only activates ELMo, but also other powerful digital services such as Light Monitoring.
Manual testing of the individual batteries in emergency lighting systems is time-consuming and costly. In an office building with around 150 emergency luminaires, the legally required annual test takes approx. 1.5 days plus a further day for testing of batteries after charging, meaning up to 2.5 working days.
Use of ELMo drastically reduces these costs. The cost structure consists of a one-off installation fee and a staggered annual service fee – the more luminaires monitored, the lower the cost per unit. With 150 emergency lighting battery systems, savings of up to 70% are possible.
ELMo not only reduces the financial burden but also rationalises the reporting process. The reports are automatically generated, saved and archived in the cloud for simple and immediate access to the latest documentation. In addition, with its intuitive dashboard and automated reports, the system offers greater transparency and convenience and changes the way emergency lighting is managed.
