Aesthetic lighting criteria are paramount in restaurants and hotels. Still, lighting must facilitate the most important visual tasks such as reading menus and bills etc.

Visual performance, comfort and ambience of the rooms (see chapter "Good lighting") must be coordinated to create the desired visual/optical effect of room design and lighting.
