Classrooms and common rooms in special-needs schools and rooms for training people with disabilities should feature at least the same lighting as other classrooms, although not merely in a purpose-oriented way, but in a way that inspires motivation through luminaire shapes and colours. Depending on the type of disability, higher lighting requirements can also be necessary to promote communication among the trainees and with the teachers. Protection of luminaires against unwarranted touching can limit choice of fixtures as well as arrangements.
